3/5/20 How to Build YOUR Community – Free workshop
Imagine this – you discover a passion for a new hobby and want to find other people who are also passionate about it. What do you do? Do you go to meetup.com and search for groups? Do you scan the neighborhood coffee shop’s bulletin board for things that are at least somewhat related to what you are interested in? Do you join a Reddit group for the hobby and then spend tons of time wishing you could find an in-person group to join as well?
Or – what if you need to build a community/team at work to get something important done? Do you send out a group email and hope that you get back more than just crickets?
What do we do when we want a community that doesn’t seem to be there? What are our options when the things we want don’t already exist?
That’s what this workshop is all about: learning the secrets of community building that create sustainable, engaging, and enjoyable connections between people. Join us for an hour of talking about the ins and outs of taking the thing you care about and building a tribe of like-minded people around it.

Notes:
This session is held at Venture Cafe St. Louis’ weekly Thursday Gathering. There will be a LOT of people and other sessions happening. Get there a little early, go upstairs, check-in at a kiosk to get a nametag printed, ask the greeter where the ‘Hattie North’ room is, grab a (free!) beverage and then come on down to the room.
We’ll start promptly at 6 pm (there is a different session happening in this room before our start, so look for me (the balding blond guy wearing glasses).
