When is it time to start?
It’s easy to get lost in the planning. It is so simple to say we are going to do some thing, come up with a strategy, and then never actually do that thing. We tell ourselves that it has to be perfect, that now isn’t quite the right time, that we are waiting for that one part of our lives to get in order before we start.
Most people wait forever
You’ve met that person, heck you might have been that person. The one who talks about all the changes that they are about to make, that talk incessantly about it, that are suddenly experts in the field. Somehow, all that expertise doesn’t equate to making the change they are talking about.
Most people spend their whole lives waiting for the time to be right. They wait for serendipity to strike. By not acting, they give up their ability to create the life that they want.
It all changes when you take action
The plan doesn’t have to be complete. The environment will never be perfect. You don’t have to wait for all the rational arguments to stop rattling around in your head. You can be the person you’ve always wanted to be.
It is only by taking action that you actually change. You can be one of those people who quietly conquer every challenge that comes their way. You are poised on the brink of greatness and the only thing that separates you from it, is taking the next step forward.
Because you deserve it
You deserve to be different than everybody else. You deserve to achieve the life you want. Only you can reach out and take it. Why not start right now?
Why this post?
Today is my birthday, which is always a reminder that there is not enough time in the world to make the difference that is needed. Waiting is equal to depriving others of the gifts we each have within us.
My wife and I also recently landed in St. Louis Missouri to start the next chapter of our lives, building a business, a career, a community, and a life together. Being new in town it is especially easy to sit back and wait for serendipity to strike. I choose something else, however, no matter how difficult it might seem.
